Frequently asked questions

General Questions

For Businesses

Q: What is Deliverton?

A: We recruit and vet independent contractor drivers, then connect them with businesses that need delivery capacity.

Q: Are you a delivery company like UPS or FedEx?

A: No. We don't manage packages or handle logistics. We provide the drivers; businesses direct the work.

Q: Do you provide vehicles?

A: No. All drivers use their own vehicles.

Q: What areas do you serve?

A: Currently serving all 50 States.

Q: How is this different from hiring employees?

A: Drivers are independent contractors, not employees. You avoid payroll taxes, benefits, workers' comp, and long-term commitments. You get flexibility to scale up or down as needed.

Q: Who's liable if a driver has an accident?

A: The driver's commercial insurance is primary. Independent contractors are responsible for their own actions and insurance.

Q: Can I hire a driver permanently after using them through Deliverton?

A: Yes. We aren't involved in the aftermath of you connecting with the driver of your choosing.

Q: What if I'm not happy with a driver?

A: Contact us immediately, We'll address the issue and help you find a new driver.

For Drivers

Q: Is this employment?
A: No. You are an independent contractor, not an employee.

Q: Do I need a commercial license (CDL)?
A: Not for most assignments. Standard driver's license is sufficient for vehicles under 26,000 lbs.

Q: How much does commercial insurance cost?
A: Typically $150-300/month depending on vehicle, coverage, and driving record.

Q: Can I deduct my vehicle expenses on my taxes?
A: Yes. As an independent contractor, you can typically deduct business expenses including mileage, fuel, maintenance, and insurance. Consult a tax professional.

Q: What happens if I can't complete an assignment I accepted?
A: Notify your client directly.
